Tia

Dear Friends at Pug Rescue:

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that my beloved pug Tia, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on September 16th, 2007. She was my little buddy who was always there for me, without condition and I miss her dearly.

I adopted Tia from PRONC on April 5th, 2003. Many of you may recall Tia - the sweet and playful pug with the troubled liver. In January of 2004, I opted to have the surgery at Carolina Veterinary Specialists to close the Portal Systemic Shunt which caused her circulatory system to bypass her liver. The decision was nerve-wracking, but it paid great dividends as she was able to spend the rest of her life with an almost 180 degree turnaround in her energy, vitality, silliness and enthusiasm. In short, it enabled her to be a pug.

Her illness came on suddenly and did not have a good prognosis with aggressive treatment for survival so I had to make the very difficult decision to allow her to cross the Bridge. The folks at CVS were wonderful and I was able to spend some final quality time with her outside basking in the sunlight - she even got to bark at another dog one final time. I held her close to me through her final moments. The irony is she spent her final moments in the two places she enjoyed most: in her daddy's arms at the vet (the girl loved to go to the vet!)

I wish to thank Pug Rescue of North Carolina, in particular Chris Hedrick, for bringing Tia into my life. I also wish to thank you all for being there for us in those times when we needed advice.

I have attached a few pictures of Tia so that you all may also enjoy memories of her.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Rest in peace my love,

Mami

Sending you a contribution to help those sad pups from the puppymill rescue.  It is sent in memory of my Percy Mugoo.  He never knew a minute of neglect, mistreatment or abuse.  He was so very loved and is greatly missed.

Thanks for all you do for all the dogs, you are angels.  Percy knew only love I wish that for all these pups!
